How it works

1

Pick your seven

You build a squad of seven professionals. Every squad mixes big names with young talents from further down the rankings.

2

Follow every tournament live

Your captain gets superpowers: every point they score counts extra. Scoring runs live from the qualifying rounds to the final, so there is almost always a match somewhere that matters to your squad.

3

Build through the season

Player prices move with form, so you can sell well, buy smart, and grow your squad beyond the first seven. The league system keeps branching out, and the later you join, the further you have to work your way up towards League ONE. And watch out for the relegation round after every main tournament.

Hint

How your players score matters as much as whether they win. A typical match earns their managers around 2,500 points, and break bonuses grow steeply from there. At last season's World Open, Ronnie O'Sullivan cleared up a free-ball 153 that was worth over 15,000 on its own. He went on to lose the final, and still earned more that week than the man who beat him.

Gerrit - Creator of Snooker League One

Why I built this

I'm Gerrit, and I've been watching snooker for over 20 years. I went looking for a manager game with more tactical depth than the ones that already exist, didn't find one, and built it myself.

Working on it, I noticed what a game like this does to the way you watch the sport. A regular midweek match suddenly matters because promotion for your own team is on the line, and it makes a real difference whether the last frame ends with a solid 85 break or a crashing 130 clearance. Ordinary matches turn as tense as a world final, far more often than you would think.

That is what I really want, and it is bigger than the game itself. I want people to watch snooker together the way they watch a World Cup, where every match means something to someone. Having your own players on the table does that.

And I'd like this to give the snooker community something to talk about, and a reason to get to know each other a little better.

What's coming

  1. 27 July

The test run is later than planned, so we have probably missed the first big tournament of the season.

  2. 31 Julyup next

    The official launch. Yay!

  3. 8 August

The SL1 season starts at the China Open. Every tournament from there on scores.

  4. 13 September

The qualifying rounds come in with three extra lineup slots. Following the young players as they fight their way through and earn you extra points is some of the most exciting snooker there is.

  5. This year

Paid memberships arrive. The core game stays free, memberships are for supporters who want to back the project and get a few nice extras in return. Nothing in there touches your points. No pay to win, just ways to get more out of the game.

  6. This year

Private leagues go online. Your own league, just you and your friends, with rules that will work a little differently from the global leagues.

  7. This season

True second-by-second live scoring from a professional data feed. This one only happens with enough members, so tell everyone!

  8. Next season

Prizes worth playing for. We are not after the classic 10% voucher for some random online shop. We are thinking special events, tickets, cues, ball sets, proper equipment, and maybe one day even a table, though that one is still a dream. We cannot promise anything yet, but we are in talks and keep pushing to get the best out of it for the community. The more of us there are, the better the prizes get.

A heartfelt thank you to snooker.org, who have kept the tournament data of this sport open and free for years. Without them there would be no league here.
